Contextual Fit

                                                                Narrative:

The Applonn Family had purchased The Smith House five years ago with no intention of changing or adding anything to the famous house on the Long Island Sound. Throughout the years, especially during the pandemic of the 21st century, like any other person who follows the CDC guidelines must stay home. The Applonn family realized what they missed during their time in quarantine and requested an addition to the home, designed by Richard Meier, but keeping the original form of the house.

The Applonn family are geologists, they requested a library/office workspace to hold all their collections and findings in area in the house. Being fit and healthy is important to the two geologists as well, so adding a gym is on the list. The final request, an indoor/outdoor family room that helps them enjoy mother nature and the fresh air to sooth them from the hectic state of the pandemic, a balance.
